Choose Your Perfect Companion
One Hero per character · Six classes · Permanent progression
One Permanent Companion, Built Around Your Character
A Hero is a second combat character controlled by the game AI. Its value comes from choosing a clear role and developing it coherently.
Permanent Companion
Own level, statistics, equipment, inventory and skills.
One Per Character
The class choice remains tied to that character.
Six Hero Classes
Warrior, Wizard, Taoist, Assassin, Archer and Monk.
Sixteen Use Slots
Only assigned compatible skills enter the Hero AI pool.
From Roland To Your First Summon
The system is simple to unlock, but the final class choice deserves careful thought because each character may have only one Hero.
Reach Level 41
Meet the level requirement before beginning the unlock process.
Find Roland

Create The Hero
Choose a unique name, class and an available gender.
Begin At Level 1
The Hero starts from the beginning and develops permanently beside you.
Class And Gender Availability
- Warrior, Wizard, Taoist, Assassin and Archer may be male or female.
- Monk Heroes are exclusively male.
- Every Hero begins at level 1.
- Only one Hero may exist for each character.
Develop The Hero Around A Clear Role
The Hero has independent progression systems. Equipment, AP, SP and active skills should all reinforce the same intended function.
Independent systems: level, experience, AP, SP, equipment, inventory, consumables and skills.
Level & Experience
The Hero gains experience while summoned, alive and close enough to battles completed by you or the Hero. It may catch up, but never exceed your level.
Attribute Points
From level 40, AP can improve HP, MP, defences, DC, MC, SC and Elemental Matters. Spend around the role instead of spreading every point evenly.
Skill Points
SP allows eligible Hero skills to progress beyond level 3. Prioritise the abilities that define the build rather than upgrading everything equally.
Books & Use Slots
Books are used from the Hero inventory. A learned compatible skill must also be assigned to one of sixteen Use slots before the AI can select it.
Check Hero Compatibility Before Building
Not every character skill is available to Heroes. Review learning levels, effects and Hero compatibility in Magic Skills.
CHOOSING YOUR HERO
Start With The Weakness In Your Character
There is no universally superior Hero. Decide the missing position and function first, then use elemental coverage to refine the choice.
Position
Does the missing presence belong on the frontline, at range or near your character?
Function
Is the real gap damage, control, survivability, healing, protection or support?
Elements
Which elemental options are missing when creatures resist your main damage source?
Six Paths. One Permanent Choice.
Each Hero class brings a different position, function and elemental profile. Choose the role your character is missing, then refine the build around compatible skills.
Warrior
Wizard
Taoist
Assassin
Archer
Monk
Choose for function first. Then confirm learning levels, effects and Hero compatibility before committing.
Warrior
Elements: Fire · Thunder
Tough close-range pressure and a durable presence. A strong partner when a ranged or support character needs a direct frontline.
Wizard
Elements: Fire · Water · Thunder
Powerful area attacks, persistent zones and the broadest elemental coverage available from one Hero class.
Taoist
Elements: Light · Dark
Healing, purification, protection, buffs, poison and hybrid damage for prolonged or difficult encounters.
Assassin
Elements: Dark
Fast concentrated pressure and close-range area attacks. Best when the character already provides enough safety or control.
Archer
Elements: Fire · Earth
Consistent ranged pressure and tactical control, with Earth coverage and a more tactical alternative to the Wizard.
Monk
Elements: Fire · Light
A durable male-only hybrid with melee pressure, ranged techniques, area attacks and emergency survival tools.
Balanced Starting Points For Every Character
These combinations are starting points, not mandatory answers. Equipment, content and playstyle may justify a different choice.
Warrior Character
Taoist
Range, healing, protection, Light and Dark.
Wizard Character
Monk
Durable frontline and Light coverage with flexibility.
Taoist Character
Warrior
A resilient frontline while the character supports and controls.
Assassin Character
Wizard
Range plus Fire, Water and Thunder beside melee Dark.
Archer Character
Monk
Frontline resilience and Light beside Fire and Earth range.
Monk Character
Wizard
Strong ranged area damage with Water and Thunder coverage.
Choose according to what you value most: safety, speed, damage, control or elemental breadth.
The Same Hero Can Play Very Differently
Attack
Actively searches for targets. Fast for controlled farming, but may create unwanted pulls.
Counterattack
Responds mainly to threats attacking you or the Hero. Useful in dangerous areas.
Follow
Prioritises movement and avoids beginning new fights while travelling or repositioning.
Support
Stays close and reacts to relevant threats, especially for healing and protection priorities.
Keep The Hero Ready For Long Sessions
Inventory & Belt
The Hero begins with ten spaces: two belt slots and eight bag slots. Capacity expands four spaces at a time up to 42.
Automatic Potions
Configure HP and MP separately by potion type, activation threshold and priority. Potions must remain in the Hero inventory.
Equipment & Refining
Class, gender, level and statistic requirements apply. Hero equipment avoids wear; compatible items gain refining experience.
Mounts
Heroes can mount, but cannot attack or cast while mounted. They do not consume mount loyalty during use.
Death & Revival
Roland can revive a dead Hero for a level-based gold cost. A ResurrectionScroll can also revive it where permitted.
Start Simple, Then Optimise With Purpose
A smaller coherent build often performs better than a Hero filled with competing skills and unfocused statistics.
A Reliable First Build
- Choose the missing role first: frontline, range or support.
- Activate a small set of dependable skills before specialised abilities.
- Configure automatic HP and MP potions before difficult areas.
- Use Counterattack when Attack creates unwanted pulls.
- Spend elemental AP only after checking the elements used by active skills.
- Improve the Hero gradually instead of optimising every system immediately.
Build Around Decisions, Not Quantity
- Treat the active Use slots as the Hero AI decision pool.
- Specialise AP around the main offensive statistic, active elements and weakest defence.
- Change behaviours and skills for bosses, groups and controlled pulls.
- Manage MP proactively when expensive abilities compete for resources.
- Judge survival, positioning, control and support—not damage alone.
If Your Hero Is Not Using A Learned Skill
- The skill is compatible with Heroes.
- It is assigned to an automatic Use slot.
- It is not on cooldown and the Hero has enough MP.
- The target is suitable and within the correct distance.
- The current combat situation meets the Hero AI conditions.
